Emergency Exit windows are systems that must, with certainty, guarantee a successful operation and are comprised of three distinct components:
1) Readily breakable safety glass of the correct size (800mm x 500mm)
2) A Device capable of breaking readily breakable safety glass
3) A person in need of an emergency exit
Unlike any other type of emergency exit device, Safe-T-Punch™ can be tested using scientific parameters and repeatable verification methods. The strength of the user, their capabilities and their environment are of primary consideration when designing a reputable lifesaving product capable of being operated by a single-handed strike that applies just 3 Joules of energy.

Homologation and whole vehicle approvals that are controlled by Competent Authorities, aid in this compliance. in the interest of global passenger safety. The words used in the UNECE R107 regulation - Technical Requirements for Emergency Windows - were carefully chosen and have important meanings:
📷7.6.8.2.2. Be made of readily-breakable safety glass. This latter provision precludes the possibility of using panes of laminated glass or of plastic material. A device shall be provided adjacent to each emergency window, readily available to persons inside the vehicle, to ensure that each window can be broken
Emergency windows and breakable escape hatches are systems comprising components that are standardised by UNECE R43 and tested using ISO 3537. The regulated components consist of readily breakable safety glass and a device with its operating instructions. Collectively these components must ensure that the emergency exit will function – guaranteed with certainty - when needed in an emergency and operate without discrimination.
